The regional center – Naryn.
Geography

Naryn region is located in the southeastern part of the country at an altitude of 1500 meters above the sea level, more than 70% of the territory is occupied by mountain ranges. Ridges alternate with deep intermountain valleys and intermontane. The biggest Mid Valley is Kochkor and Djumgal (height from 1500 to 2600 meters above sea level). The largest alpine valleys are Ak-Sai, Arpinskaya, Al-Bashynskaya and Son-Kul (height from 2600 to 3800 meters above sea level).
Great Silk Road crosses Kyrgyzstan in several directions. One of the branches of the Silk Road passes through the Naryn region. In 1893 was built the road Naryn – Torugart – Kashkar.
The region borders on the east by the Issyk-Kul, in the north – Chui, in the west – Jalalabad and Osh region of the Kyrgyz Republic in the south – with China.
The total area of -45.2 thousand. Km2. (1/4 of the territory of Kyrgyzstan).
Naryn region is separated from the nearest railway station, 180 km.
